New Eye-Tracker gives voice to ventilated ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07251530

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new high-tech device that uses eye-tracking to help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) who are on breathing machines communicate with their caregivers. Many of these patients are awake but cannot speak due to a tube in their throat, which can be frustrating and scary. The device aims to make communication easier, reduce anxiety, and improve the hospital experience for 60 adult patients in France.
