First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether nursing care based on Kolcaba's Comfort Theory could reduce pain and improve comfort in healthy newborns right after a vaginal delivery. Researchers measured pain, comfort, crying, and vital signs in 60 full-term babies. The goal was to see if a holistic comfort approach—supporting physical, emotional, and environmental needs—can make the birth experience less stressful for newborns.
