New combo therapy could help more liver cancer patients get transplants
NCT ID NCT07310836
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether combining local treatments (like radiation or chemo directly to the liver) with newer drugs (anti-VEGF and immune checkpoint inhibitors) can shrink liver tumors enough for patients to qualify for a liver transplant. About 300 patients will be included, and researchers will track how many tumors shrink, how many patients get a transplant, and how long they live afterward. The goal is to offer a chance at transplant to patients who currently don't meet standard criteria.
