Double brain zapping may tame tough seizures
NCT ID NCT07458217
First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This small pilot study will test whether stimulating two brain areas at once—the subthalamic nucleus and the centromedian thalamus—can safely reduce seizures in adults with drug-resistant motor epilepsy. Ten participants will receive the stimulation and be monitored for changes in seizure frequency and side effects. The goal is to see if this combined approach works better than stimulating just one area.
