New drug combo aims to wipe out resistant leukemia cells

Summary
This study tests a combination of two targeted drugs, pirtobrutinib and venetoclax, in 30 adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL) that has stopped responding to standard BTK inhibitor therapy. The goal is to see if the combo can clear cancer cells from the blood and bone marrow. Participants must be currently taking a BTK inhibitor and have signs of disease progression.
