New device may help colorectal cancer patients avoid a temporary stoma bag

Summary
This study tests a temporary device placed inside the bowel to protect the surgical connection after colorectal cancer surgery. The goal is to see if it can help patients avoid needing a temporary ileostomy (stoma bag) and reduce serious complications. About 108 adults having low anterior resection will be enrolled.
