Researchers hunt for clues to prevent dangerous colon surgery leaks

NCT ID NCT07144683

Summary

This study aims to identify what factors increase the risk of a serious complication called an anastomotic leak after colon or rectal surgery. Researchers will follow 430 patients undergoing this type of surgery to collect data before, during, and after their operation. The goal is to build a model that can predict who is most at risk, which could help doctors prevent this complication in the future.
