New hope for advanced colon cancer patients after standard treatments fail

Summary
This study tests whether reusing a previous drug combination (irinotecan plus cetuximab) works better than the current standard treatment for advanced colorectal cancer that has worsened after two rounds of therapy. Researchers will enroll 150 patients whose cancer has specific genetic markers found through a blood test. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatment combinations to see which leads to better tumor shrinkage and longer survival.
