New drug combo tested against spreading bowel cancer
NCT ID NCT00556413
Summary
This study tested whether adding a targeted antibody drug (cetuximab) to a standard chemotherapy combination works better as the first treatment for colorectal cancer that has spread. It involved 42 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who hadn't received prior treatment for their advanced disease. Researchers measured how well the combination shrank tumors and monitored side effects.
