First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at 1,000 adults with colon cancer that has caused a blockage in the large bowel. It compares having emergency surgery right away versus first placing a stent or creating a stoma (an opening in the belly) to relieve the blockage, followed by surgery later. The goal is to see which approach leads to fewer serious complications and better long-term survival.
