Collagen patch after mouth cancer surgery: does it help you swallow and speak?

NCT ID NCT07337122

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at how well people could swallow and speak after surgery for mouth or throat cancer, when a collagen patch was used to help rebuild the area. Thirty-three patients filled out questionnaires about their swallowing and voice before surgery, and again at 1 month and 6 months after. The goal was to see how the patch affected recovery, not to test a new treatment.
