NCT ID NCT06488794
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests if giving a nebulized antibiotic (colistimethate sodium) twice daily can prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia in children aged 1 month to 14 years who are on breathing machines. About 400 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo for up to 7 days, and researchers will track how many develop pneumonia. The goal is to find a safe, effective way to protect these vulnerable children from a serious infection.
