Summary
This study tests whether taking weekly cold water baths (18°C) for at least 12 weeks can increase brown fat activity in 45 adults with obesity. Brown fat is a type of body fat that burns energy to generate heat. Researchers will use special PET scans to measure blood flow and fuel use in brown fat. The goal is to understand how cold exposure might help treat obesity and related health problems.
