Chilling news for wisdom tooth pain? cold rinse tested for faster healing

NCT ID NCT07243210

Summary

This study tested whether using cold saline (0-4°C) to rinse the surgical site during impacted wisdom tooth removal leads to better recovery than using room-temperature saline. Fourteen patients had one wisdom tooth removed with cold saline and the other with room-temperature saline. Researchers measured pain, facial swelling, jaw stiffness, and a saliva marker of inflammation to see which method worked better.
