First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tested two ways to reduce pain from dental numbing shots in children: a cold technique (cryoanesthesia) and a numbing gel (benzocaine). Twenty-eight kids aged 6 to 12 received both methods on different sides of their mouth. Researchers measured pain, heart rate, and behavior to see which approach worked better.
