New combo technique may slash colon polyp recurrence

NCT ID NCT06937671

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether a mix of hot and cold techniques to remove large colon polyps (20 mm or bigger) can lower the chance they grow back, without increasing risks like bleeding or a hole in the colon. About 194 adults will get one of two removal methods and return for a check-up 3-6 months later. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to manage these polyps and reduce the need for repeat procedures.
