Ancient drug tested to stop dangerous heart flutter after surgery

Summary
This study is testing if a drug called colchicine, combined with a new surgical technique, can prevent a common irregular heartbeat that often occurs after heart bypass surgery. It will involve 140 patients who are scheduled for this surgery. The goal is to see if this new approach is better than the standard care at keeping the heart's rhythm steady during recovery.
