Summary

This study looked at whether colchicine, an anti-inflammatory drug, changes how overweight adults make decisions about food. 59 women with a BMI of 27 or higher and mild inflammation took either colchicine or a placebo. Researchers used brain scans and taste tests to see if the drug affected how much effort they were willing to put in for food rewards.
