Sniff your way to sharper thinking? trial tests essential oils for focus
NCT ID NCT07623811
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a blend of essential oils, used as a sniffable stick and a topical stick, can improve attention, memory, and focus in healthy adults aged 18 to 64. One hundred participants will be randomly assigned to use either the active oil blend or a placebo that looks and smells similar. They will complete cognitive tests and questionnaires before and after using the products to see if the oils make a real difference in mental performance.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
InTune essential oil blend (topical and aromatic)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural, non-drug way to temporarily boost attention and memory in healthy people.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with no phase, and the effects may be subtle or no better than placebo. Essential oils can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in some people.
