Scientists search for early warning signs of mental decline in older surgery patients
NCT ID NCT07184073
Summary
This study looked at 129 older adults having planned orthopedic surgery to see if certain markers in their blood and spinal fluid were linked to physical frailty and thinking problems before their operation. Researchers wanted to understand if these markers could help identify patients at risk of mental decline earlier. The goal is to find better tools for spotting vulnerability in aging populations.
