One-and-Done heart procedure could cut stroke risk for AF patients

NCT ID NCT06861673

First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests doing two heart procedures at the same time in people with atrial fibrillation (AF) who are at high risk for stroke but cannot take long-term blood thinners. The combined approach uses a special type of energy (pulse field ablation) to fix the heart's electrical problem and then closes off a small pouch in the heart where clots often form. Researchers want to see if this one-session approach is safe and effective. About 60 participants will be enrolled across multiple centers.
