Breakthrough surgery may let patients keep their natural hearing

NCT ID NCT04707885

Summary

This study tests whether a new hearing monitoring system used during cochlear implant surgery can help preserve patients' remaining natural hearing. Researchers will compare surgery with the monitoring system to standard surgery to see which better protects hearing. The goal is to allow patients to benefit from both their natural hearing and the implant's electrical hearing together.
