First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a cochlear implant can safely and effectively help people hear again after surgery that leaves them deaf in one ear. Participants are having a tumor removed or a procedure for Meniere's disease that causes complete hearing loss on that side. They receive a cochlear implant during the surgery and are tested over a year to see how well they can detect sounds, understand speech, and locate where sounds come from.
