First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a cochlear implant in the poorer ear can improve hearing for adults who have hearing loss in both ears but worse in one. Forty adults received an implant and continued using a hearing aid in the better ear. The main goals were to see if they could understand words better and hear softer sounds with the implant alone after six months.
