New vaccine aims to arm immune systems against hidden virus in people with HIV

NCT ID NCT05099965

Summary

This study tested whether a new vaccine could safely boost the immune system's ability to fight cytomegalovirus (CMV) in people who also have HIV. The trial involved 90 adults whose HIV was well-controlled with medication. Participants received either two doses of the experimental vaccine or a placebo, and researchers tracked their safety and immune responses for nearly two years.
