Summary
This study looks at how well the immune system recovers its ability to fight cytomegalovirus (CMV) in adults who have had a stem cell transplant. Researchers will measure special immune cells called CMV-specific T cells at several points during standard anti-CMV treatment. The goal is to see if low levels of these cells can predict which patients will go on to have severe or hard-to-treat CMV infections. If so, doctors could one day tailor treatment earlier for those at highest risk.
