First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests two antiviral medicines—oral valganciclovir and ganciclovir eye drops—against a placebo to see which works best for controlling CMV eye inflammation and preventing it from returning. About 117 adults with active CMV-related eye inflammation will take part. The goal is to find a treatment that reduces the virus quickly and keeps the disease from coming back over a year.
