Scientists hunt for brain and blood clues to predict schizophrenia drug success
NCT ID NCT05316883
Summary
This study aims to find biological markers that can predict which patients with hard-to-treat schizophrenia will benefit from the medication clozapine. Researchers will examine 200 patients before and after 12 weeks of clozapine treatment, looking at immune markers in blood and spinal fluid and taking detailed brain scans. The goal is to better understand how clozapine works and identify who is most likely to respond to it.
