Artificial pancreas trial aims to simplify diabetes management
NCT ID NCT06579404
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a fully closed-loop insulin delivery system (an "artificial pancreas") can better control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes who use insulin, compared to their usual insulin therapy with a continuous glucose monitor. About 224 participants will use either the automated system or standard care for 26 weeks. The goal is to see if the closed-loop system improves HbA1c levels and keeps glucose in a healthy range without increasing dangerous low blood sugar episodes.
