First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests two types of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in 30 people with Parkinson's disease who already have a DBS device. One type uses fixed settings, while the other adapts in real time to brain signals. Each participant tries both versions at home for a few days and then picks which one they prefer. The goal is to find out who benefits most from adaptive DBS and improve daily symptom control.
