Heart drug tested to fight deadly blood infections

Summary
This study is testing whether adding a short course of the blood-thinning drug clopidogrel to standard antibiotic treatment helps hospitalized patients with serious Staphylococcus aureus blood infections. About 230 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the antibiotics plus clopidogrel for 5 days or antibiotics alone. The main goal is to see if this combination leads to better overall recovery and fewer complications 90 days later.
