Calming nose spray for scared kids before surgery?
NCT ID NCT03725930
Summary
This study tested whether a nasal spray containing the drug clonidine could safely reduce anxiety in young children before minor surgery. It compared the spray to a placebo (a spray with no medicine) in 90 children aged 1 to 5 years old. The main goal was to see if children who received the medicine were calmer and more cooperative when it was time for their anesthesia.
