New drug trial targets stubborn diabetes in 1,500 patients

Summary
This study is testing a new oral drug called clofutriben for adults with type 2 diabetes that remains high despite taking multiple medications. The goal is to see if lowering a specific stress hormone (cortisol) in the body can help control blood sugar. About 1,500 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the new drug or a placebo for 24 weeks to compare their results.
