New drug targets cortisol to tame stubborn diabetes

Summary
This study tests a new medicine called clofutriben for people with type 2 diabetes that is hard to manage, especially if they may have high cortisol levels. About 1500 adults will first be screened for cortisol issues, then receive either clofutriben or a placebo daily for 24 weeks. The goal is to see if clofutriben can lower blood sugar and improve cortisol control better than placebo.
