New strategy aims to tame cancer before risky treatment

NCT ID NCT04981912

Summary

This study is testing a new order for giving approved cancer drugs. The goal is to see if giving two drugs first can safely shrink the amount of cancer in the body. This could make it safer to start a third, powerful drug by lowering the risk of a dangerous side effect called tumor lysis syndrome. The study is for adults whose chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma has come back or stopped responding to prior treatment.
