Study exposes postcode lottery in blood cancer care
NCT ID NCT07463976
Summary
This study aims to understand why patients with a common, slow-growing blood cancer (chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or CLL) receive different levels of care depending on where they live in the West Midlands region of the UK. Researchers will survey about 130 family doctors and specialist nurses to map out current referral practices and identify any unfair gaps in service. The goal is to use this information to create more consistent and fair guidelines for how patients should be referred to specialists and managed.
