Scientists hunt blood clues to predict leukemia Drug's fate
NCT ID NCT02827617
Summary
This study aimed to find markers in the blood that could predict early on whether the drug ibrutinib would provide long-term benefit or stop working for patients with a high-risk type of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Researchers observed 56 patients with a specific genetic change (TP53 mutation) who were already scheduled to take ibrutinib. They tracked changes in the patients' blood over time to see if certain patterns could signal future treatment success or failure.
