Neck surgery for Alzheimer's: real help or just a trick?
NCT ID NCT07294885
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at a minor neck surgery (called LVA) that some doctors think might improve memory and thinking in people with Alzheimer's disease. Early results showed some short-term benefits, but it's not clear if the surgery itself or other parts of the procedure (like anesthesia) caused the improvement. The trial will compare 50 people who get the real surgery to those who get a fake surgery (sham) to find out the true cause of any early symptom changes.
