First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to treat enlarged veins in the stomach (gastric varices) that can bleed. Doctors placed small metal clips before inserting coils to block the veins, aiming to prevent the coils from moving to other parts of the body. The study included 31 people with large abnormal blood vessel connections. Results focused on safety and whether the coils stayed in place.
