New surgery aims to speed healing for painful tailbone condition
NCT ID NCT06683274
Summary
This study is testing a new, standardized surgical method called the cleft lift for people with complex or recurring pilonidal sinus disease, a painful condition near the tailbone. Researchers want to see if this approach helps wounds heal faster and lets patients get back to daily activities like sitting and work more quickly compared to traditional surgery. The study will follow 58 patients aged 16 and older who are scheduled for surgery.
