First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study compares clear aligners to traditional braces for treating mild to moderate dental crowding in adults with a normal jaw relationship. Twenty-four participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The main goal is to see how each method affects the bone around the teeth and the height of that bone.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Clear aligner and fixed orthodontic appliance
- What this could lead to
- If clear aligners work as well as braces, patients may have a more comfortable and less visible option for fixing crowded teeth.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with only 24 people, so results may not apply to everyone. Both treatments can cause temporary discomfort or root shortening.
