Dental study tests best way to stop clear aligner white spots

NCT ID NCT07229105

Summary

This study compared three different remineralizing treatments to see which works best at preventing white spot lesions (early tooth decay) around the attachments used with clear aligners. Forty patients undergoing clear aligner treatment were assigned to use either a special daily paste, a professional gel, a quarterly fluoride varnish, or just regular toothpaste for six months. Researchers used a special laser device to measure changes in tooth enamel around the attachments over time to see which treatment best controlled demineralization.
