New nerve block combo may offer safer pain relief for broken collarbone surgery

NCT ID NCT07548775

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests two ways to numb the shoulder area for collarbone fracture surgery. One method (SCB-ISB) can sometimes cause breathing problems. The other (SCB-CPB) aims to provide the same pain relief but with fewer side effects. 34 adults having collarbone surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two nerve block combinations, and researchers will measure how long the pain relief lasts and how stable their breathing and heart rate remain.
