Summary
This study tested whether taking citalopram for 26 months could slow the buildup of harmful amyloid plaques in a brain area linked to vision and thinking problems in Parkinson's disease. 58 older adults with Parkinson's took either citalopram or a placebo, and researchers used brain scans to measure plaque changes. The goal was to see if this common antidepressant could protect the brain from further decline.
