First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested whether taking a cistanche supplement for 8 weeks, alongside a standard training program, helps men aged 18–25 improve their anaerobic performance (like sprinting and jumping) and recover faster after exercise. Fifty-six men, including elite and amateur athletes, took either the supplement or a placebo. Researchers measured power, jump height, and recovery markers like blood lactate and muscle damage indicators.
