Urine clues: scientists track cancer through daily chemical rhythms

NCT ID NCT01693835

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring natural chemicals in urine over 2 days could help monitor cancer therapy. Researchers collected 10 urine samples from 32 people with metastatic colorectal cancer and compared them to healthy volunteers. The goal was to see if daily patterns of these chemicals change with cancer, potentially leading to a non-invasive monitoring tool.
