New anesthetic aims to stop dangerous blood pressure drops in elderly surgery patients

NCT ID NCT06952608

Summary

This study is testing if a newer anesthetic drug called ciprofol helps keep blood pressure more stable during surgery compared to the commonly used drug propofol. It focuses on older patients (65+) who take long-term blood pressure/heart medications, as they are at higher risk for dangerous drops in blood pressure under anesthesia. Researchers will measure how often and how severely low blood pressure occurs during and after surgery.
