First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a two-way text messaging system can help reduce newborn deaths in rural Kenya. About 3,000 pregnant women will send messages to community health volunteers who normally visit homes. The goal is to see if faster, easier communication can improve newborn survival and care practices like breastfeeding and cord care.
