Scientists search for blood clues to stop surgery pain that Won't go away

NCT ID NCT06418295

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people develop chronic pain lasting more than 3 months after chest surgery. Researchers will follow 60 patients having chest surgery, checking their pain levels and analyzing blood samples before and after the operation. They are looking for specific blood markers and how they might be controlled by temporary genetic switches, hoping to find clues for future treatments.
