First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study tested two methods to reduce chronic pain after mastectomy: an ultrasound-guided nerve block (erector spinae plane block) and an intravenous lidocaine drip. 80 women who had breast surgery with lymph node removal were split into two groups. Researchers checked pain levels at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery to see which approach worked better.
